How long your IPL photofacial results last depends on several factors, most notably how well you care for your skin at home (that’s where our medical-grade skincare products come in)! We usually recommend a series of IPL photofacials followed by regular maintenance treatments for the best possible results.
What to Expect During an IPL Photofacial
Step 1:
Prior to your first IPL photofacial at our clinic in Birmingham, you’ll start by meeting with an experienced Smart Skin Med Spa provider for a 30-minute initial consultation!
We care about the success of our patients and providing them with the perfect treatment for their needs and goals. To make that happen, we’ll review your medical history and go over all of your unique aesthetic concerns before recommending a treatment.
Step 2:
If you’re a good candidate for an IPL photofacial, we’ll then take you to one of our clean and comfortable treatment rooms to start your facial! We’ll start by cleaning the treatment area before applying the V-IPL device to your skin.
Using state-of-the-art controlled pulse configurations and contact cooling, your provider ensures a comfortable treatment customized to your needs.
Step 3:
An IPL photofacial takes about 30 minutes to complete, afterwards most patients are fine returning to their normal day. You may experience some mild redness that should dissipate soon after your treatment.
Step 4:
Once you finish your treatment with us, your provider will give you a set of aftercare instructions to follow for optimal results. IPL photofacials may not produce immediate results, but in about a week, you should see improvements!
