What to Expect During Hormone Replacement Therapy
Step 1:
Prior to receiving HRT at our clinic in Birmingham, you’ll start by meeting with an experienced Smart Skin Med Spa provider for a 30-minute initial consultation!
We care about the success of our patients, and we strive to provide them with the perfect treatment for their needs and goals.
To make that happen, we’ll review your medical history, complete a lab draw, and go over all of your unique concerns before recommending a treatment.
Step 2:
If you’re a good candidate for hormone replacement therapy, we’ll then take you to one of our clean and comfortable treatment rooms to insert your first pellet.
We place the pellet under your skin, typically in the fatty tissue of the hip or buttocks.
This allows the hormones to immediately take action in your body, versus having to pass through the digestive system.
Step 3:
HRT pellets are quick treatments, typically only taking 20 minutes to insert. It’s just like any B-12 shot you’d get at your doctor’s office, requiring minimal downtime and no lower body workouts or pools/hot tubs for 3 to 7 days.
There’s no needed aftercare to worry about once you’ve had your appointment. Your pellet will last 4 to 6 months.
