What to Expect From Lip Filler

Step 1:

Your provider begins by asking what you want to change about your lips and reviewing your medical history. Then, they look at your natural lip shape in relation to the rest of your features, paying attention to where a subtle adjustment could improve proportion.

From there, your injector builds a plan for how much filler to use and where to place it based on your desired result, whether that means more definition or restoring fullness only where it has faded.

Step 2:

At Smart Skin Med Spa, our pre-injection process includes cleansing and a topical anesthetic before we place lip filler in Franklin. Your injector adds small amounts of HA filler at carefully chosen points, building the shape gradually.

You may feel a brief pinch or pressure during each injection, but most patients describe the experience as comfortable. Treatment usually takes about 30 minutes.

Step 3:

Immediately after your appointment, you may experience mild swelling or bruising. Changes in shape and volume are visible right away, but the temporary effects can obscure your final result at first.

Because we take a conservative approach to lip filler, we wait for swelling to subside before you decide whether you want additional product.
